5061 Marking Gauge Kit

The 5061 Marking Gauge represented more than a century of wooden marking gauge evolution from Stanley. It was only sold in the UK from the late 1970's to the early 1980's. It utilizes a plastic thumbscrew and plastic pressure plate to lock the beam into place. The beam is canted at a 45 degree angle which means it locks securely in the corner of the mortise. 

My version of this tool is sold as a kit. All the parts are expertly machined. You'll need to do a very small amount of finish sanding and then apply your finish of choice. You'll also need to install the pre-sharpened pin (instructions included).

The wooden parts are made of kiln dried European beech. The plastic parts are 3d printed. The pin is made of hardened and tempered high carbon steel.
